It turns out Tervis was the safest bet at the Super Bowl this year.
The Venice drinkware manufacturer on Sunday night immediately made Kansas City Chiefs steel tumblers available, honoring the team as Super Bowl champions. The company sent out a release before the game announcing manufacturing for the products would begin as soon as the final score was in.
“Tervis, the nationally loved and family-owned drinkware company founded in 1946, is taking the field by storm with a new drinkware option to help you show off your team spirit,” a release from the company reads.
The company produced a 30-ounce Traveler with a straw lid, and custom-printed cups decorated to honor both teams headed to the Super Bowl.
The technology available at the Venice manufacturing plant also allowed Tervis to prepare for a Chiefs or a San Francisco 49ers victory and to make products immediately available. Logos were predesigned in anticipation of either game outcome.
The company shared footage with media of a worker making a “night game” style cup with the winning team logo set against a black background. Immediately after the game, a cup decorated in bright red and branded with the Chiefs logo and the words Super Bowl LVIII showed up on the Tervis website.
Tervis officials said every cup would be “complete with the new flexible straw lid option that offers a secure fit and efficient removal by an ergonomic tab.”
That’s a product that was only unveiled for the first time by Tervis last Tuesday.
“We are always striving to create innovative drinkware options for our loyal customer base,” said Hosana Fieber, CEO of Tervis. “As many of us take our drinks on-the-go, this new lid accessory offers security to minimize spills, more flexibility and is overall easier to clean than most straw lids currently available.”
Tumblers honoring the champion team are now officially available for purchase at Tervis.com. The cups retail for $34.99 on the company website. Note: The straw lid will not be available on all cups. It's only available for the 30 oz Tervis Travelers (stainless steel) and for NFL, and Tervis only offers the straw lid on 30 oz Night Game (the black-on-black design).

Patients feel it too. We are pleased to honor Alexis with one of the highest recognitions for nurses, the DAISY Award, said Todd Cruz, RN Chief Nursing Officer at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. Recently Pompey’s family accompanied her to work and joined her nursing family as she was presented with the DAISY Award. The award, given to nurses worldwide, recognizes and celebrates nurses who provide extraordinary, compassionate care. As a nursing student, Pompey did her clinical rotations at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. She chose to work at the hospital because of the sense of family she felt here and when it comes to family and nursing the two always go together.

Sarasota Memorial and members of their design/build team are celebrating an important milestone this week – the official “topping out” of the five-story, $75 million Kolschowsky Research & Education Institute. The topping out is part of an age-old ritual that signifies that the new facility, located 1880 Arlington Street where the old Doctors Gardens medical office building used to stand, has reached its maximum height, in this case 82 feet. This month, workers are starting installation of support steel, exterior walls and windows, while others will focus on interior framing, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems. Roofing is expected to begin in March. Working in tandem with architects and engineers, the construction crew includes nearly 200 craft workers and a project management team that has invested more than 30,000 hours on the project since Doctor’s Gardens was demolished and site work began in early 2023. To date, crews have poured more than 10,000 tons of mixed concrete and installed more than 700 tons of reinforcing steel. When it opens in mid-2025, the Kolschowsky Research and Education Institute will be a state-of-the-art training and research center that expands research and training opportunities for physicians and clinicians caring for patients on the Suncoast. In addition to supporting clinical trials and research studies, the Institute will offer a range of education programs and state-of-the-art simulation center that expands hands-on training opportunities for physicians, nurses and students mastering new treatments and technologies. The roughly 80,000-square-foot institute will consolidate and promote Sarasota Memorial’s existing programs, while creating a collaborative and innovative environment that appeals to physicians and researchers and brings leading-edge treatments and specialists to the region. Sarasota Memorial’s research and graduate medical education programs have tripled in size in recent years, with more than 50 active studies under way and thousands of physicians competing for residency and fellowship opportunities at SMH each year. Sarasota County Supervisor of Elections Ron Turner will begin mailing vote-by-mail (absentee) ballots to domestic voters today for the March 19 Presidential Preference Primary (PPP). Only registered Republican voters may vote in the March 19 PPP. Turner said more than 25,000 ballots will be mailed to registered Republican voters who have a vote-by-mail request on file with the elections office. This mailing follows the vote-by-mail ballots sent last week to registered military and overseas voters with requests on file. “It’s important to remember that since the state Democratic Party already selected its candidate for the party’s nomination for president, only the Republican Party will hold a statewide presidential primary,” Turner said. “To vote in it, you must be a registered Republican by the voter registration deadline on February 20.” Turner also noted that voters have until 5 p.m. Thursday, March 7 to request a ballot be mailed to them for the coming election. A voter may request a vote-by-mail ballot in one of the following ways: Online at SarasotaVotes.gov/VotebyMail; In person at any of three elections offices in Sarasota, Venice or North Port; By phone to 941.861.8618. “Voted ballots may be returned by mail or in person to the supervisor of elections but must be received in the elections office no later than 7 p.m. on election night to be counted,” Turner said. “Voters who cast their ballots by mail must sign the certificate on the ballot return envelope and their signature should match the signature on file in the statewide voter registration database.” A voter may update his or her signature any time by submitting a Florida Voter Registration Application to the elections office.
