Sarasota Orchestra’s Free Family Concert Furthers Mission to Engage, Educate and Enrich

 Sarasota Orchestra welcomed more than 500 children and family members to Holley Hall for a free afternoon of symphonic fun on Sunday, January 29. Led by guest conductor Chelsea Gallo, the Orchestra performed two 60-minute concerts featuring Peter and the Wolf, Prokofiev’s “symphonic fairy tale for children,” narrated by Casey Murphy. Other pieces included classical renditions of Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty, Rossini's Cinderella and Nielsen's Aladdin. Before and after the concert, families were invited to participate in interactive, educational activities that included an instrument petting zoo, arts & crafts, and the opportunity to meet a musician.
