National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment’s second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $10,000 to The Circus Arts Conservatory (CAC) Education Outreach Program for the Circus Science Machine. The grant will underwrite the Circus Science Machine being taught at Title 1 schools in Sarasota and Manatee counties in partnership with the USF PAInT (Partnerships for Arts-Integrated Teaching) program. The Circus Science Machine presents science, engineering and physics concepts to 5th graders and has proven to increase test scores where taught. The CAC intends to expand the program and offer it to additional counties in the state of Florida.
