A tried-and-true Arcadia institution will soon boast a state-of-the-art new home. The $6-million Mosaic Arena, a 7,796-seat venue named for the phosphate company covering half the construction costs, should increase both the audience and the overall functionality for the annual Arcadia All Florida Championship Rodeo. It will also provide DeSoto County with a venue not seen this side of Interstate-75. The new facility will be the third home for the rodeo, which has been at the Turner Agri-Civic Center since 1959. Definitely time for a move—hopefully the rodeo will stick around here for more than eight seconds.
